Thomas F. McDevitt.
Thomas F. McDevitt is the Founder and Managing Partner of Edgewood. Mr. McDevitt has over 25 years of experience in all aspects of real estate and real estate capital markets. Throughout his career, Mr. McDevitt has been a principal on over $1 billion of real estate transactions including loan originations, loan purchases and direct equity investments. He has been directly involved with over $10 billion of real estate transactions as an agent. Mr. McDevitt’s primary focus has been the acquisition and disposition of non-performing loans and distressed properties. Under his management, Edgewood has raised capital from high net worth investors, family offices and private pension funds. Mr. McDevitt has held senior real estate capital markets positions at Salomon Brothers, Citibank, Meenan McDevitt & Co. and Société Générale. Mr. McDevitt sold Meenan, McDevitt & Co., founded in 1991, to Société Générale in 1998. In all of these positions, Mr. McDevitt was responsible for committing capital for the purchase or origination of commercial mortgages.
Mr. McDevitt received his A.B. from Harvard College and his MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. Mr. McDevitt currently serves on the Boards of Bank of America’s Excelsior Buyout Investors and the US Trust Global Private Market Fund. Mr. McDevitt is currently Chairman of the Excelsior/La Salle Property Fund, which has over $1 billion in real property assets. Mr. McDevitt also served as a Director of Quadra Realty Trust, a NYSE REIT which was sold to Hypo Real Estate Capital and Bank of America’s Excelsior Absolute Return Fund of Funds. Jonathan M. Levirne. Jonathan Levirne is a Managing Director and Partner of Edgewood in charge of new loan originations and acquisitions and business development. Mr. Levirne joined Edgewood at its formation in 2002. Mr. Levirne has been instrumental in the investment and management of Edgewood’s four funds and formation of the opportunistic lending platform. He is primarily responsible for the sourcing and structuring of deals and has closed over $250 million in debt and equity transactions through Edgewood managed funds. Prior to joining Edgewood, Mr. Levirne worked as an analyst with Mr. McDevitt’s CMBS Group at Société Générale, where he supported the purchase and origination of over several hundred million dollars of whole loans and large floating rate loans. Michael H. House. Michael House is a Managing Director and Partner of Edgewood and is responsible for managing the pricing, underwriting, due diligence and closing processes for all acquisitions and loan originations. Prior to joining Edgewood, Mr. House managed the Capital Markets Team at GE Asset Management (now Genworth Financial), overseeing the acquisition of over $2.0 Billion of first mortgages, B notes and mezzanine loans. Previous to that he managed loan workouts for Marine Midland (now HSBC). He has extensive experience with loan restructures, property foreclosures, bankruptcy proceedings, property management and development. Mr. House has been active in the Commercial Real Estate finance industry for twenty five yers serving in senior positions at Arbor Realty Trust, Mercedes Capital (debis), Standard & Poor’s and Bank of New York. He has been involved in transactions in most major markets across the US on virtually all property types, and directly originated over $1.0 Billion of loans. Tammy A. Pendergast. Tammy Pendergast is a Senior Underwriter and Asset Manager for Edgewood. Since joining the company in 2006, Ms. Pendergast has focused on underwriting a wide range of commercial product types. Ms. Pendergast is also responsible for the management of all of the firm’s equity properties, mortgages, and the reporting process to Edgewood’s largest investors. Prior to her employment with Edgewood, Ms. Pendergast was employed by CWCapital as a Conduit and Fannie Mae DUS Analyst/Underwriter. Previous to that she was a Principal and Chief Operating Officer at New England Realty Resources where she was involved in all aspects of commercial loan origination. Specifically she was a correspondent for over twenty life companies and securitized lenders. Ms. Pendergast holds a BA from Fairfield University in Psychology and an MBA from Bentley University. Karen Pepe. Karen Pepe is the Controller of Edgewood. She is responsible for the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements; financial planning & analysis; as well as, maintaining the day to day accounting functions. Ms. Pepe is an accomplished professional with over 22 years of financial management experience. Jonathan M. Breen. Jonathan Breen is a Director for Edgewood. Mr. Breen has over 10 years of real estate underwriting, analysis, investment, finance, asset management and engineering/construction experience. Prior to joining Edgewood Capital in 2010, Mr. Breen was employed at Summit Development, a local real estate developer/investor from 2007-2010 where he was responsible for acquisitions and asset management. Mr. Breen financed, structured, and acquired over $50 million of Connecticut-based real estate investments over three years. Previously, Mr. Breen has held senior positions in the real estate investment groups at Citigroup Global Wealth Management and AIG Global Real Estate from 2003 to 2007, completing acquisitions and new developments totaling over $500 million in equity. Prior to 2003, Mr. Breen was a Mechanical Engineer for an architectural/engineering design firm, designing HVAC, fire protection and plumbing systems for TAMS Consultants and an Assistant Supervisor for Structure Tone, a general contractor based in New York City. Christopher J Whittleton. Christopher J. Whittleton is a Director at Edgewood Capital where his responsibilities include sourcing, underwriting and closing bridge loans, commercial loan acquisitions and other opportunistic commercial real estate investments nationwide. In his 25 year career in commercial real estate, Mr. Whittleton has been a principal, agent or lender on over $6 billion in commercial real estate transactions including $5 billion in sales, equity and debt placements and $1 billion in principal investments, loan acquisitions and structured financings. Mr. Whittleton has previously held senior positions with such institutions as Cushman & Wakefield Sonnenblick-Goldman, Sovereign Partners, The Athena Group, E&Y Kenneth Leventhal and the Resolution Trust Corporation. Mr. Whittleton started his career as a leasing and development executive for The Holladay Corporation, a Washington, DC based office and multifamily developer.
